My research group aims to understand how geochemistry regulates ecosystem processes in terrestrial environments. Our work has focused on redox-sensitive metals (Fe and Mn) and their interactions with carbon and nutrient cycling. This research has spanned environments that include temperate forests, arctic tundra, coastal deltas, stream networks, and coal mine waste.
